Africa in a vase

Here's the acrylic painting I finished a little while ago. The objective was to paint a vase... and I wanted to paint one of the photos I took in Africa, so here's the result! Hope you like it... admittedly a bit odd, but when did I ever shy away from an unusual project. :)

Sorry if the white balance isn't quite on here... I really need to color correct my monitors.

I've started another painting on a canvas this time, also one from an Africa photo. I'm really enjoying this one so far.

In other news, I'd highly recommend "A Tramp Abroad" by Mark Twain. I'm only about a fifth through it, but it's really funny. It's got Twain's biting wit and great observational humour.

Rendering Gordon Turntable

I know I haven't posted anything in May so far, but I'll be uploading a video in the next few days. The past couple of days I've been rendering out a turntable showing off the *cough* award winning *cough* Gordon Freeworm... yeah, I got third place in the low poly competition, which I'm very pleased with. :)

So that should be live in the next while. Also I might post a photo of an acrylic piece I finished recently for my traditional-art lessons. I have slightly mixed feelings about it, so we'll see.

And... I'll be perfectly honest, I've been playing a fair bit of Portal 2. Awesome game. Simply brilliant.
